BHEA is responsible for the management of all programs offered in UiTM Kedah. When the division was first set up in November 1997 – April 1998 semester, there were only four programs offered – Diploma in Public Administration (AM110) with 41 students, Diploma in Accountancy (AC110) with 54 students, Diploma in Business Studies (BM111) with 33 students and Diploma in Banking Studies (BM112) with 34 students.

In 2003, three new programs were offered – Diploma in Information Studies (IS110), Pre-Degree Law (PI005) and Diploma in Art and Design (AD114). This was followed by two additional programs – Degree in Islamic Banking (BM229) and Executive Master of Business Administration (BM 771) in Julai – Disember 2005 semester. All these academic programs are managed by BHEA with the assistance of the respective department of each program.

BHEA provides and manages teaching and learning facilities that consist of 13 Technology Enabled Classrooms (TEC), 16 classrooms with teaching tools, two lecture halls, 12 computer labs, eight studios and four workshops for Art and Design. These facilities are under the supervision of Teaching and Learning Technology Unit (UPTP), Information Technology Unit (IT) and Department of Industrial Design (DIDE).

BHEA is also involved in academic excellence programs, such as writings, research and paper presentations. BHEA manages this portfolio through special units, among them are University Publishing Centre (UPENA), Unit of Research, Development and Commercial (URDC), Unit of Leadership and Quality Management (ILQAM), ‘Small Business Development Centre’ (SBDC) and Special Interest Group (SIG).

BHEA is also responsible for the management of the following three main portfolios:
